Communication Gap

I've started to speak. I figure that 13 months is long enough to depend on crying to alert Mom and Dad of my needs.

One problem: they don't get it. I keep telling them stuff, and they just are not responsive.

Here's a perfect example:

As you heard for yourself, I said, "When are you going to get off the couch and play with me? You can't stay there all day, you know." He stayed on the couch another five minutes.

Maybe in time the communication gap will close.
